Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare. I also accept private pay for patients not using insurance. If you have out of network benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm your mental health coverage and financial responsibility.

What are the first steps?

You can schedule an appointment by emailing, calling, texting, or using the Book Nowfeature on the patient portal to find a time that works. Once you reach out, I will ask a few quick questions to ensure it is a good fit and schedule your intake session. I will also send over some paperwork to complete in advance. If you would prefer to start with a free 15-minute consultation, that is always an option too.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is focused on getting to know each other and identifying what you want to work on. I will ask questions about your past experiences and what is bringing you to therapy now. Together, we will talk about your goals and outline some initial steps toward them. If I believe your needs would be better served elsewhere, I will be honest and offer recommendations.

What if my partner does not want to come to therapy?

Great question! Therapy is most effective when you are committed to making change. You do not need to force your partner to attend. Many relational shifts can still happen when one partner engages in therapy. Depending on your situation, individual therapy may still offer significant relief and I am happy to talk more about whether that would be a good path for you.
