My Experience & Approach

Over the years, I have worked with people navigating anxiety during transitions, unhealthy relationship patterns, and questions of self and identity. My approach is collaborative and eclectic, focusing on what feels most relevant for you. I value insight, self awareness, and practical change over rigid techniques. In therapy with me, we slow down, reflect, and make changes at a pace that feels manageable, sometimes even with a little humor.

In therapy, I approach this in two main phases: first, increasing self awareness and understanding and second, creating change while managing emotions.

  1. Self Awareness and Understanding. We start by noticing the patterns contributing to the discomfort, then explore why those patterns exist and how they developed. Understanding past experiences helps connect them to current reactions. For example, you may notice patterns of feeling disconnected from a partner, your work, or your sense of self and together, we explore when this happens and how it may relate to earlier experiences or relationships.

  2. Creating Change and Managing Emotions. Next, we focus on small and realistic changes that gradually grow into bigger ones, while developing ways to manage the emotions that arise. For example, you might begin to act in ways that feel closer to your values or pursue work that feels more fulfilling, while learning to navigate guilt, anxiety, or frustration that surface during the process.

This two step process helps deepen self understanding and improve how you show up in relationships. I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, and create a life that matters most to them. I especially enjoy seeing those light bulb moments when people gain insight and I appreciate helping people feel more connected to others. I strive to make therapy a supportive, collaborative, and approachable process while challenging you when you need it.

What Therapy Looks Like with Me

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming and creating lasting change often takes time. I use thoughtful questions to support reflection that builds insight and helps you notice small progress, even when it feels difficult to see. I offer practical tools for routines, self-care, and coping strategies, and help solve daily challenges without letting them take over the work. My goal is for you to feel seen, heard, validated, and supported as you explore new ways of approaching challenges. Whether you leave a session with new insight or a small next step, I hope you feel a little more at ease. While therapy can be serious work, I also believe humor has a place in the process and healing does not always have to feel heavy.
