Immigration Evaluations

Sunrise over a mountain rage from an outlook with water.

Immigration Evaluations provide clinical documentation of the emotional impact of your experiences in a trauma informed way.

I use my experience with individuals and families affected by trauma, anxiety, grief, and complex relationship dynamics to ensure evaluations reflect emotional hardship accurately, even when it is not immediately visible.

The process is structured and supportive so you know what to expect at every step.

Applications I can assist with…

  • Extreme Hardship waiver and facing challenges if separated from a family member or if you must relocate with that loved one to their country of origin.

  • Cancellation of Removal petition and concerned about your emotional, financial, or practical impact if your family member were required to leave.

  • Violence Against Women Act petition and have experienced abuse or control in a relationship that caused fear, isolation, or harm.

  • Asylum case and carrying distress or trauma related to threats or violence in your country of origin.

  • U Visa application and healing from crime related harm that has affected your safety, functioning, or wellbeing.

  • T Visa application and recovering from trafficking or coercion and working to regain emotional stability and a sense of control.

Please note: I do not determine eligibility for any legal case.

What to expect in the process…

  • Explore your experiences, current life, symptoms, and cultural context in a careful and supportive manner.

  • Document emotional impacts that may not be immediately visible but affect your daily life.

  • Provide space to tell your story at a pace that feels manageable, with breaks or supports as needed.

  • Prepare a detailed report that meets the legal standard for your case.

  • Collaborate with your attorney as needed to ensure the report accurately supports legal requirements.

  • Consider any additional vulnerabilities, including those related to being LGBTQ+, if applicable.

  • This service is not covered by insurance and must be paid for out of pocket. Payment plans are available to support access; the report will be provided when the balance is paid in full.

  • You can connect with me by emailing, calling, texting, or filling out the form on my contact page. Once you reach out, I will ask a few brief questions to ensure the service is a good fit and then schedule sessions. I will send electronic paperwork for you to complete before your first session. If you would prefer to start with a free 15-minute consultation, that is always an option.

  • Sessions focus on understanding your experiences and assessing emotional impact. If I believe your needs would be better supported elsewhere, I will be honest and provide referrals. You will complete standardized measures to add quantitative data to your report. The completed report is typically ready within two weeks of your last session for you to share with your legal counsel. If you need it sooner, we can discuss your timeline and whether an expedited report is possible for an additional fee.

  • If you prefer to complete the sessions and paperwork in another language, I can provide resources for professionally trained interpreters but you will be responsible for scheduling and covering their cost.

  • An evaluation focuses on documenting how life events have impacted you. While the first part of therapy often involves similar questions, therapy is an ongoing process focused on healing and growth. It is a conflict of interest to provide both an immigration evaluation and therapy at the same time. Once your case is closed, I can provide Individual Therapy or Relationship Counseling if you choose to. I strongly encourage anyone navigating immigration challenges to seek therapy and I am happy to help you find a provider.

  • Yes but there are some limitations. For Immigration Evaluations, I work closely with legal counsel to ensure documentation meets legal standards so I will ask you to sign a release to share information with your attorney. If you are not comfortable doing that, we can talk more about your concerns. I am a mandated reporter so the only time information is shared without your consent is if there is a safety issue involving you or someone else. Outside of those situations, everything shared is confidential. If we decide sharing information with someone else would be helpful, we will discuss exactly what you want shared and what you do not. I will only release this information with your written permission.

Private Pay Fee: $1,200, which includes 2 to 3 hours of clinical sessions and
a comprehensive written report that is typically 10 pages in length.
The fee reflects the time and care required to conduct a thorough assessment and
produce a legally defensible report that meets legal standards.
If you need the report completed in less than two weeks, an expedited fee of $300 applies.
Payment plans available upon request.
